Q 1. What can the Skid Monster teach?
The In-Car Guide contains two dozen lessons that can be taught to any driver, from the novice to the driver of an emergency vehicle. Each lesson helps the driver to learn and apply different driving behaviors, such as the concept of targeting to help drivers learn how to effectively use vision to lead the car with their eyes. When in a critical regain-car-control situation, looking in the wrong direction will cost the driver the slim opportunity to get the monster back in the cage. Other behaviors such as speed control clearly demonstrate how and when to use the acceleration and braking forces. The driver learns how costly two or three kilometres per hour of excessive speed can be.

Q 2. How do trainers get training?
A training program dedicated to the specific use of Skidmonster is provided for instructors. This is an intensive training regimen which is coupled to every Skidmonster franchise. Since new teaching methods and thought processes are involved all instructors, irrespective of background, will undergo training to US standards.

Q 3. What type of vehicle does Skid Monster work on?
Any front wheel drive vehicle can be used. Skidmonster SA have however opted to use a specific brand primarily because of:
- Vehicle compatability
- National footprint
- Reliability
No modifications to the vehicle are needed. After a day of training with the Skid Monster, the castering wheels can be taken off the rear hub and the original rims and tyres mounted to return the car to its original state.

Q 4. Where can one undergo Skidmonster training?
Skidmonster has been launched in Gauteng but will soone be available in Cape Town and KZN. A progressive roll out will follow in 2007 with training – by arrangement – being made available in most centres. The advantage of using Skidmonster is as a result of a skidpan not being needed. It is however contingent on a open space being available in the vicinity.

Since the concept is a radically different from existing training methodology it is not necessary for an applicant to be an existing provider of driver training.

Q 6. Where will training be undertaken?
Training for new franchises are undertaken at Skidmonster SA’s head office training facility based in Kyalami at the Kyalami race circuit. However the design of Skidmonster is such that training can be undertaken on virtually any open lot ( such as a car lot, shopping centre etc) training is completely transportable.

Q 7. Where will training be undertaken?
Pricing is competitively priced but as training is totally different to any other training being offered one cannot compare it to “advanced driver training” presently offered by most vehicle manufacturers.
